Evans Gwekwerere and Desmond Maringwa have been ruled out of today’s Premiership clash against Kiglon at Rufaro Stadium.
Team manager, Nyika Chifamba said the two players picked up injuries during Sunday’s 1-0 win over Hwange in the BancABC Super Eight quarter-final match.
However, Chifamba said his team was not under any pressure ahead of the match which comes after back- to-back defeats in the Africa Champions League against Demoratic Republic of Congo’s TP Mazembe and Esperance of Tunisia.
Today’s match is also a warm- up game for Dynamos, who are facing ES Setif of Sudan in the Caf Champions League Group A encounter at the same venue on Sunday.
If Dynamos win, they will leap-frog Motor Action to the top of the table by a point.
“We are not under pressure at all. We still have a chance to qualify for the next round of the tournament (Orange Caf Champions League),” said Chifamba.
He added: “We have two games in hand and if we beat Kiglon tomorrow (today) we will go on top of the table so everything is going our way.”
Kiglon have, however, promised to dampen the high spirits currently prevailing in the Dynamos camp. Speaking to NewsDay Monday, Martin Vengesayi, Kiglon’s star striker, said his team needs to start winning games now if they harbour any chances of another dance in the league next season.
“We need to start winning now, starting with the Dynamos game tomorrow (today),” said Vengesayi. “Dynamos will find it difficult to play with a side which is fighting for its dear life.”
