Controversial MDC-99 leader Job Sikhala, who had a petrol bomb thrown at his house recently, has put the blame squarely on Zanu PF, which he accuses of being a party of terrorists.
He once again called for the international community to impose more sanctions on anyone associated with Zanu PF.
“MDC-99 urges the international community to slap strong restrictive measures against anyone associated with the terrorist organisation called Zanu PF,” Sikhala said. “Restrictive measures should be slapped against members of the terrorist organisation’s politburo, central committee, National Consultative Assembly, provincial executives, Members of Parliament and their collaborators in the journalism fraternity.”
Sikhala said in a statement yesterday that Zanu PF had introduced internal terrorism in Zimbabwe and that “it has become a norm for all of us to live under such unusual circumstances”.
“The recent bombing of my family by suspected terrorists from Zanu PF has hardened our resolve to fight against internal terrorism introduced into our lives by the Zanu PF regime until it is defeated,” Sikhala said.
˝Zanu PF is a party of terrorists which deserves to be punished, he said, adding that the MDC-99 had “proved beyond any reasonable doubt, that there is no way you can distinguish Al-Shabaab of Somalia, al-Qaeda and all other terrorist groupings from Zanu PF”.
“The people of Zimbabwe remember that in the 1980s, the Zanu PF terrorism regime slaughtered more than 20 000 innocent supporters of the late Dr Joshua Nkomo. We all remained silent in fear of a terror backlash,” Sikhala said.
