Revellers in for a holiday treat

Oliver Mtukudzi is back from his international tour and his welcome back show is one to look forward to ahead of several other exciting gigs this weekend.

Tonight Mtukudzi and the Black Spirits grace Mverechena Hotel in Domboshava at 10pm and another one tomorrow at Spillway Pub and Restaurant.

The Gospel Arise Family Show starts at 10am at the Aquatic Complex tomorrow featuring the likes of Amanda Sagonda, Primrose Cement, Joyce Simeti, Sebastian Magacha, Pastor Haisa, Bethen Pasinawako, Kudzi Nyakudya, Pastor Mafukidze, and Vabati VaJehovah, among others.

King of Zora music Leonard Zhakata is also set to close this gospel event at 4pm.

The Summer Slam annual bash which is usually done during the first weekend of the August school holiday to celebrate the beginning of summer is at the Water Whirld.

The star-studded dancehall event features Winky D, Guspy Warrior (Mechanic Manyeruke’s son), King Shaddy, Godfather Templeman, and Miss Smuffet, among others.

The fresh joint in the capital, City Sports Bar is another hive of activity this weekend.

Tonight fast-rising dance group Banyana Bafana takes centre stage at 6pm whereas Mudhara Weeds and the Seasons Band will provide entertainment at the bar tomorrow.

DJ Torne and Chaos are on the turntables at Ximex Bar and Grill’s Whisky Party tonight whilst Seductive Gee, DJ Destiny and DJ Lazy B and resident DJ Tommy Dutch also do their thing at the Balcony today.
Tomorrow the Summer Slam after party is also at the Balcony starting at 9pm while the classic dancers will be shaking Sunday away at the same joint.

As the weather gets warmer Gochi Gochi joints are slowly getting their lustre back as people are flocking to popular spots en masse – KwaFatso in Glen Norah, KwaZindoga in Waterfalls and the popular, KwaMereki being the most highly recommended.
