Al Hilal coach Sredojevich targets semi-final


KHARTOUM — Al Hilal coach Milutin Sredojevich has said Group A in the Orange CAF Confederations Cup is tough but is optimistic his Sudanese team will qualify to the semi-finals of the competition.
Al Hilal are in Group A in the Confederations Cup mini-league stage with Ittihad of Libya plus West African side’s AS-FAN of Niger and Djoliba from Mali.
“Micho”, as the Serbian-born coach is popularly known, told Cafonline from Harare after his side beat hosts Caps United 3-1 at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday to advance 8-1 on aggregate that Al Hilal will plan their objectives in the Confederations Cup with each step of the way.
“Being grouped in a tough group stage with Libyan giants Ittihad from Tripoli, Djoliba from Bamako and surprise package FAN from Niger which ejected our expensively collected squad El Merreikh, we have reason’s to be optimistic before the competition in the group stages begins on 15 of August,” Micho told Cafonline.
“We have put in front of us our second target after fulfilling the first target to reach the group stage and that is to reach the semi-final of the CAF Confederations Cup.” —Reuters
