Dube fight cancelled again

-

Zimbabwe’s Pan African World Boxing Association heavy weight champion, Thamsanqa Dube will have to wait a little bit longer to defend his title after his bout with Congolese fighter Ntitsu Mbayo was called off at the last minute for the second time inside three months.
Dube, who hasn’t had a competitive fight since he won the title in April last year, was supposed to defend his title for the first time on Saturday at the Rainbow Towers. The harbinger to the disaster emerged on Friday when a scheduled press conference was cancelled.
Senzeni Haparimwe, who is based in South Africa, was promoting the bout. Haparimwe did not want to talk about the fight before and after the no-show.
Both Haparimwe and Patrick Mukondiwa, the secretary of the Zimbabwe Board of Boxing and Wrestling Control could not be reached for comment yesterday.
Dube has not fought since his victory over Jake Els of South Africa in a fight that was promoted by Rodney Berman of Golden Gloves Stable.
