Kapfupi to launch DVD for Juice Card

Comedian-cum-musician, Freddy Manjalima known as Kapfupi in entertainment circles will launch the DVD version of his chart-topping album Juice Card tomorrow at Sports Diner in Harare.
The video album was released a fortnight ago.
Kapfupi is basking in new-found glory following the massive success of the album which carries popular tracks Mai Nga and Juice Card.
The launch is being organised by Chipaz Promotions which has worked with Kapfupi in live shows for a long time.
The company has taken Kapfupi to a number of places countrywide including Chiredzi, Beitbridge and Chinhoyi.
Chipaz Promotions director Patson Chimbodza said he had decided to host the DVD launch in honour of the sweet fruits of hard work that Kapfupi is currently enjoying.
“We have worked with Kapfupi for a very long time. He has always been a promising musician and I believe his time to shine has come,” said Chimbodza.
“I realised that the musician was talented a few years back and took him aboard on a number of shows that featured prominent musicians. Of course, he would just come as a supporting act but that experience nurtured him into a mature musician he is now.
“It is no doubt that he can now stand on his own and be the main attraction of any show with much success.”
Chimbodza added that they had invited popular musicians to the launch as a way of encouraging Kapfupi in his steps towards joining the crème de la crème of local music.
About 100 guests have been invited to the launch but the function is still open to the public although the space is limited.
Kapfupi will perform songs from the album Juice Card in addition to showing some of the videos on the big screen.
Other songs on the album are Chikwama, Vene Vemhosva, Shanda (Don’t Mix) and Muzukuru.
“It will be a great occasion. I have not had an opportunity to launch an album at such a grand stage and I thank God for leading me to this success,” said Kapfupi.
“I promise my fans the very best at the launch and at all the shows that will follow. This album is doing well and it gives me strength to do even better. I thank Chipaz Promotions for their support over the years and I also thank them for organising this launch.”
Chimbodza promised to continue working with Kapfupi saying the first pot of call would be giving the musician a slot in the Harare Agricultural Show entertainment programme this year.
