Eagles golf tourney huge success

-

The Eagles game at Ruwa was well attended with a field of 80 golfers. Participants experienced a great course and a very well-organised tournament. Mike Sanyanga (pictured right) a seasoned golfer, had a flowing putting day and netted 74 points.
l Telecel Chapman Grand Slam saw Dumi Chitengwa scooping the top prize in an event that had a field of 130 amateur golfers who were expected to complete 36 holes in a one-day event. The organisers had to cut the number of holes to 32 after the back of the field failed to complete the last four holes due to poor light.
l This weekend, Christian Golfers will be teeing off at Chapman Golf Club from 0715hrs. Luke Moyana, who is the chairman of the association, is inviting interested golfers to this early morning game for which an array of fantastic prizes have been lined up.
l Sheerwood and Norton golf clubs will be hosting the B and A league games respectively this Sunday. Both courses normally play well during the dry season. The league convenors this week will be insisting on a valid Zimbabwe Golf Association membership card before tee-off with players risking disqualification for non-compliance. Zimbabwe lady golfers will participate in the A-B Triangular end of July in Botswana.
l Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia will lock horns for honours. Next week we will bring you more details on this regional event. We will also feature the Nyatsimba Mutota and the Lowveld golf tournaments both to be played during the last week of this month.
