Chippaz launches junior football

The Zimbabwe Junior Football League (ZJFL) on Thursday launched an Under -11 football tournament at a function held at Rufaro Stadium.
The football tournament has been named the Chippaz Sepp Blatter Under-11 tournament after the sponsors Chippaz Promotions and in honour of Fifa president Sepp Blatter, who has since cancelled the trip to Zimbabwe which was scheduled for next week.
The football tournament was supposed to coincide with the visit by Fifa president who was expected to officially open Rufaro Stadium after the laying of the artificial turf. Sponsor Partson Chingodza said he was still finalising the prize money figure.
A number of players in the local league and those based outside the country among them Edward Sadomba, Kelvin Mushangazhike, Murape Murape, Rowan Nenzou and Desmond Maringwa were present at the launch.
Zifa board member for marketing Nigel Munyati commended the new executive of ZJFL for prioritising the development of football from grassroots levels.
