Stock market retreats as blue-chips slump

Zimbabwe stocks reversed four days of straight gains yesterday in trades dominated by losses led by the bourse’s blue-chips.
Only seven stocks closed in the back, albeit with thin margins. Thirty-four out of the market’s 76 counters did not trade at all.
The industrial index retreated 0,66% to 127,23 points weighed down by losses in Econet, PPC, National Foods, Old Mutual and Seedco. PPC and Econet both shed five cents to $4,55 and $3,85, respectively.
The mining index was unchanged at 151,39 points after all the four stocks in the index traded flat.
