A Bulawayo woman is appealing for financial assistance to enable her daughter, who suffers from hydrocephalus, to access medical treatment at local government hospitals.
Standile Ncube (20), told NewsDay , that her one-year-old daughter Kimberly, required constant medical checkups at referral hospitals in Harare.
Ncube failed to raise $20 for a head scan, which was required at Parirenyatwa on Friday, leaving her dejected and frustrated.
“They told me to come back on Monday but I don’t have the money.” said a tired looking Ncube.
She said Kimberly’s father deserted her when the child developed the condition. The desperate young mother does not have any source of income.
Touched by her plight, journalists from NewsDay donated $20 for the scan.
