MUSICIAN Shuga Shuga (real name Taruvinga Manjokota) has hit hard times amid revelations that he has relocated to Mwenezi Grotwth Point.

Speaking to NewsDay, Manjokota said he had found it proper to relocate from Harare because of his ill fortunes.

“I have decided to live outside Harare maybe it will work because in Harare it has been difficult for me,” he said.

This has come barely a month after his recording stable Zimbabwe Music Corporation repossessed the music instruments they had sold him after he defaulted on payment.

“All was not well and I have come here where I will start to assemble a new outfit because those I have been working with stayed in Harare,” he said.

Before his relocation to Mwenezi, the musician was renting a single room in Budiriro 2 where he was evicted for non-payment of rent. Shuga Shuga hogged the limelight a few years ago with the song Mairosi that left many convinced he would be another success story on the local music scene.

Two years later he released Kuchema neKunakirwa that failed to make an impact on the market.

He lost three of his band members in 2008 and has been struggling to come back in the music industry ever since.

His likeness to the late Ketai Muchawaya almost won it for him, but it appears destiny has decided otherwise.
