Newly crowned Pro50 champions Mashonaland Eagles will be hoping to carry their impressive showing into their Logan cup clash away to MidWest Rhinos at Kwekwe Sports Club.

Matabeleland Tuskers will be hoping to shake off this weekend’s defeat in the one-day format of the game in front of their home fans to Eagles and complete a double when they travel to Masvingo to take on Southern Rocks.

Tuskers won the first leg against Rocks at Queens Sports Club by 10 wickets after restricting Rocks to 152 runs in their first innings, going on to bat a total of 380 run leaving Rocks trailing by 228 runs heading into the second innings.

Rocks improved in their second innings, this time managing a total of 292 which was not enough to make the match a contest, as Tuskers needed only 65 runs to win, which they did easily through their openers Terry Duffin and Brian Chari who chased the target in under 16 overs.

Tuskers, who have been invincible in the first half of the season having racked in 27 points from the four games played, will be hoping to maintain their superb performance in the second half of the season.

Rhinos, Mountaineers and Rocks are currently tied on 14 points all, having recorded two wins and two losses each, with Eagles who are yet to record a single victory, resting at the bottom of the Logan Cup standings with a single point.

In the last fixture of the first half of the season, Tuskers pulled off an impressive chase to win by three wickets against Rhinos.
